Trainers who trade Pokémon during this time will get twice as much Candy as usual. Players will also get 1000 Stardust if they catch Shellder. Who is Shellder?
Shellder is a water-type, purple mollusk Pokémon from Kanto and can be found in the wild. It can be shiny in Pokémon and have a unique bright orange color. Shellder’s moves get more robust in the rain but are weak against Grass-type and Electric-type Pokémon. Most of the time, you could find Shellder near water. However, its level may make it hard to catch. You will have a 50% chance of getting Shellder in Pokémon GO.
Your chances of keeping it in a PokéBall will increase if you use Razz, Silver Pinap, and Golden Razz Berries.
Sellers with higher levels might need berries, but try catching them with PokéBalls first.

How to Evolve Shellder in Pokémon GO?

Shellder, this week’s Spotlight Hour star, has only one evolution: Cloyster. 50 Shellder Candy turns the shelled Pokémon into Cloyster, a Water and Ice-type Pokémon. Catch either Pokémon in the wild to get 50 Shellder Candy. During the Spotlight Hour event, remember to use Incense to attract wild Pokémon to your position and get more chances to meet Shellders and find a Shiny one. Like Community Day Events, this Pokémon’s higher spawn rate will increase your chances of catching it.
Cloyster is vulnerable to Electric, Fighting, Grass, and Rocky-type techniques, although its attacks improve in rain and snow. It excels at Frost Breath and Avalanche. Players dislike using Cloyster because various ice- and water-type Pokémons can do more damage. But you can see it in Ultra League PvP.

Players will receive two times the usual number of experience points when catching Pokémon.
