All the players participate in this event, hoping to catch Zapdos and its shiny variant. Unfortunately, Shiny Shadow Zapdos were unavailable in Raids because of an unexpected glitch. Niantic Offers Free Battle Passes for Shadow Zapdos Unavailability
On Twitter, Niantic immediately acknowledged this issue. On September 27, 2023, they shared an apology message and offered players three Premium Battle Passes.
This Battle pass package was available from September 28, 10 a.m. local time, to October 8, 10 p.m. local time. Any players participating in the Shadow Zapdos raid event during the glitch will be eligible for this free item bundle.
However, some players are not happy with this compensation package. Even more than three raids did, players will also gain this same battle pass package as everyone. However, it is impossible to satisfy everyone, and developers must consider player feedback when designing compensation packages.

Shadow Raids Event In Pokemon Go
In the upcoming days, an event called Shadow Raids will start. Players can catch a Shadow Zapdos and its shiny variant in this event. Also, Shadow Moltres will be available from Tier 5 legendary Shadow Raids. Remember, to complete Shadow Raids, you must have an in-person raid pass. Shadow Moltres will be available for this raid starting October 1, 2023, at 10 p.m. local time.
You need the best counter-team to win against this Shadow Moltres boss. Try to create your winning combination with the following:
- Rhyperior (Shadow)
- Diancie (Mega)
- Tyranitar (Mega)
- Aerodactyl (Mega)
This required trainers to strategize and coordinate with others to complete the raid.
Do You Need To Continue Shadow Zapdos Raids?
The answer is yes. You should participate in Shadow Zapdos raids in Pokemon Go for several reasons.
- Shadow Zapdos is a formidable attacker with a 1.2x boost to its Attack power, making it an excellent choice for Electric and Flying-type attacks.
- It can be shiny when obtained from Shadow raids.
- Its Flying typing also provides strategic advantages by allowing it to resist attacks from raid bosses and gym defenders.
