How To Play Placeholder Quest In Fortnite

Do you want to know how to play Placeholder Quest in Fortnite? Even though Fortnite achievement hunters have experienced a lot over the years, a new challenge has emerged, venturing into uncharted territory. A brand-new questline titled “Placeholder” surfaced on August 7th. This guide is for you if you’re unsure what’s going on or how to complete it. This guide will tell you how to play Placeholder Quest in Fortnite.

What Is The Fortnite Placeholder Quest?

In Fortnite, completing the Placeholder quest will initiate a new series of Snapshot Quests for Doctor Slone. These quests involve challenges related to the game’s lore and environment changes seen in Chapter Four, season three, similar to those for Aura and Triggerfish. Unfortunately, it appears that Doctor Slone’s quests were not correctly implemented, as only the first stage out of four is currently available in the game files. As a result, the quest still shows placeholder text.

How To Fix The Fortnite Placeholder Quest

Epic Games has publicly addressed the issue on social media and acknowledged that the placeholder quest is a defect that needs to be fixed. Unfortunately, players are currently unable to do anything to resolve the problem. When checking your quests, you may have noticed a new task in the Snapshot area. It is labeled as a “Placeholder,” and completing it will reward you with 30K XP. You only need to emote in a capture point to complete the task. Once you take control of a flag and finish the assignment, you will receive prizes, as shown in the image above.

If you’re looking for an easy capture point in Fortnite, head to Shattered Slabs. It’s located in the west part of the map, northwest of Frenzy Fields. Drop down to the location, enter the circle, and use any emote. It doesn’t matter if it’s a funny dance or a dab. Once you do the emote, a confirmation pop-up will appear in the top left corner, confirming the quest is complete.

In addition to the Placeholder quest, three other placeholder missions are mentioned in the quests menu but are currently unavailable. Ten ranked quests offer rewards such as loading screen pages, sprays, and an emote called Burn Bright. You can also participate in Reboot Rally quests with your friends, unlocking rainbow-themed rewards.

Fortnite is on PS4/PS5, Xbox, and PC.
