Do you want to know how to get the Deterministic Chaos in Destiny 2? At the beginning of year 6 in Destiny 2, all players will get a quest for a weapon called Deterministic Chaos after completing the nightfall campaign. You will get this quest from Nimbus, and it doesn’t matter what difficulty level you finished the campaign in. You will get this quest regardless. This guide will tell you how to get the Deterministic Chaos in Destiny 2.
How To Acquire the Deterministic Chaos in Destiny 2
You need to complete the exotic quest named “unfinished business,” which will make you go through the hidden areas of Neomuna and some familiar locations.
These are the steps you need to follow to acquire the weapon:
- Head to the Hall of Heroes and talk to Nimbus
- Find vex and kill him.
- Collect the items that Vex drops
- Collect 5 data extractions
- Collect the data package
- Get the Vex compass.
- Get the passkey and exchange It for the weapon
Heading to the Hall of Heroes and Talking to Nimbus
First, you need to head to the Hall of Heroes. Once you talk to Nimbus, you will get the exotic quest. You will receive some complicated instructions but don’t worry. What you have to do next is, kill Vex.
Finding Vex and Kill Him and Find the Data Extractions

Open your map and find the “vex incursion area” and Vex. Once you see Vex, you have to start killing it. You will also notice that Vex will drop some items, and you have to collect them. You need 40 of those quibets to move further in the quest. That is because you need to collect 5 data extractions, and for each data extraction, you need eight quibets. So we suggest you go to a public vex event and play so you can store as many items as needed.
Collecting the Data Package
Next, you must collect a data package to the far right of the map. It’s a place you may have gone through in the campaign. After fighting off waves of enemies, you interact with the Vex object to get the data package. Once you have collected, head back to Nimbus and interact with them.
Finding the Vex Compass
After this, you need to head to the Thilladrome Lost sector. Complete this sector and loot the chest to get the Vex compass. With the compass, head to Ahimsa Park, where you must kill enemies with abilities. After fighting for a while, the quest will update. Once it does, go into Calus’s ship and follow the quest icon, and you will walk into an area full of enemies.
Handovering the Passkey to Nimbus in Exchange for the Weapon.
After that, Talk to Nimbus to get the passkey and head over to Black Garden, where the Garden of Salvation raid occurs. Follow the waypoint until you reach Nimbus; you will receive the weapon after interacting with it.
You still need to complete the mission to finish the quest. The final step is to bring the memory core to Nimbus and then go to the Hall of Heroes, where a cutscene will be played.

Deterministic Chaos has two unique traits; one is Vexadecimal, and the other is heavy metal, making it a formidable weapon.
The heavy metal trait is While holding down, the fourth bullet becomes a projectile that weakens enemies on impact. The other feature, which is Vexadecimal, is when holding down the trigger, and every fourth heavy metal projectile makes targets volatile on impact.
