Are you wondering if you can catch Shiny Grubbin on Pokemon Go Community Day? The Pokémon Go Community Day is a recurring gathering of trainers from all over the globe. This event is highly anticipated since it features a higher frequency of a particular Pokémon spawning in the wild. For September 2023, the chosen Pokémon is Grubbin. But the question of inquiry of most players is whether they can capture a Shiny Grubbin during the event. This guide will help you out.
Pokemon Go Community Day: Can You Catch Shiny Grubbin
The Simple answer is yes, you can catch shiny Grubbin on Pokemon Go Community Day.
Shiny Pokémon are rare versions of regular Pokémon with different color schemes. Catching these elusive creatures is a thrilling part of the Pokémon experience. During the Grubbin Community Day, which took place on September 23, 2023, trainers had an increased chance of encountering a Shiny Grubbin. This was possible in the wild and as a reward for Research tasks.
During the event, which lasted from 2 pm to 5 pm local time, Grubbin appeared more frequently in the wild. Trainers lucky enough to encounter a Shiny Grubbin had the chance to catch it. This bug-type Pokémon, boosted by rainy weather, could be evolved into Charjabug and then into Vikavolt.
In addition to these features, the event also offered several bonuses. Trainers received tripled XP for catching Pokémon and doubled Candy for catching Pokémon. Trainers level 31 and up had a doubled chance of receiving Candy XL from catching Pokémon. Lure Modules and Incense activated during the event lasted for three hours.
Furthermore, Charjabug evolved with the exclusive Fast Attack move Volt Switch Electric during the event. This move could be earned by evolving Grubbin into Charjabug and Vikavolt from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. local time. If trainers missed out on evolving it during this period, they could use an Elite TM to get the move later.
In addition to all these features, Niantic ran special four-star raids from 5–10 p.m. Clearing the Charjabug raid caused more Grubbin to spawn in a 300-meter radius around the gym for 30 minutes, providing another opportunity for trainers to catch Shiny Grubbin.

Grubbin Evolution In Pokemon Go
When you give 25 candies, the first stage of Grubbin’s evolution happens. This transforms Grubbin into Charjabug, a Bug/Electric-type Pokémon. Charjabug maintains the insect-like appearance of Grubbin but gains a protective casing that resembles a bus or battery.
The final stage of Grubbin’s evolution is Vikavolt. To evolve Charjabug into Vikavolt, trainers need an additional 100 candies. However, it’s important to note that a particular Lure Module is also required for this evolution. Vikavolt is an impressive Bug/Electric-type Pokémon resembling a beetle with large mandibles and wings.
The evolution from Grubbin to Vikavolt is not just about changing appearances. Each evolution also has increased stats, making Vikavolt a stronger Pokémon than its previous forms. This makes the evolution process worthwhile, as trainers have a powerful Pokémon for battles.
