Epic Games: the creator of Fortnite, has officially announced this through Twitter. They were initially planning to complete it by 16th May 2023, but it seems they could not keep the tabs. Reason Behind Fortnite’s Ranked Delayed
The most significant update for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, update 24.40, was planned to release on 16th May at 8 am BST / 3 am EDT / 12 am PDT across all platforms. Fortnite published this news on its official website but was later removed due to the delay. In addition, gamers complain that the game is not live and can’t find challenges in the Quest tab, even though 16th May is Challenge Day. The official Fortnite page says the subsequent available challenge is in six days. (as of 16th May)
This update will introduce the Ranked Play method in Fortnite history. This feature can help the players compete in Fortnite Battle Royale and Zero Build. Initially, there will be 18 ranks from Bronze to Unreal.
Epic Games further confirmed that Rank release would be pushed back for both Competitive Build and No Build games. However, the reason behind the delay is not mentioned in the Twitter message.
When is the New Release Date?
“We will now be targeting 17th May for the release of v24.40 alongside the newly announced Ranked. We’ll provide another update with details about v24.40’s expected downtime as we have it.” says the Fortnite Official Twitter page.
So as promised, they will release the downloadable update on 17th May 2023 at 3 am ET, according to the newest Twitter message from Fortnite. Further, they stated that matchmaking would be disabled shortly beforehand.
