Purah first appeared in Zelda: Breath of the Wild (2017). There she was born in Kakaiko village. Her younger sister Impa was the chief elder of the town. Purah is a researcher. She formed a team with her buddy Robbie to help Princess Zelda with ancient technology. Together, they uncovered four divine beasts, ancient guardians, and many relics. Later she continued her research as the Director of Ancient Tech Labs in Hateno village.
Purah did some age reversal experiments and accidentally revised her age. She ended up looking like a little girl. Thankfully, her mind was intact. In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, she appears slightly older than before. However, Purah is 124 years old, making her the oldest living Sheikah in Hyrule.

Why is Purah necessary in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
According to the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom storyline, Link meets Purah, and she gives him the Purah Pad. It’s a tablet that comes as a replacement for the Sheikah Slate. Purah Pad is portable, and players suggest it resembles the Nintendo Switch. It will help players to show maps, menus, and much more. Also, it comes with many upgrades, such as Fast Travel ability. This fantastic invention can instantly provide the player’s current location on the land and in the sky, three-axis map coordinates, time, temperature, and pin locations. It also acts as an adventure log tracking the players’ objectives and missions.

How to get the Purah Pad?
After the first skydive, you will land in a small lake near a stone archway. Swim towards it. You can get on to large lily pads to raise stamina. Then, follow the stone path toward the yellow trees. You’ll find a green helmet-shaped statue at the end of the track. Press A after you go near it. That will give you the Purah Pad in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
