Finding ships with extra shielded cargo holds and buying scan jammers are rare and expensive. You can find a ship with extra shielded cargo by scanning the ship. When scanning a ship, if you see a separate shielded cargo section under the default cargo capacity, you can confirm it is a ship with extra shielded cargo.
Finding a scan jammer is very hard and rare. One way to get your hands on a scan jammer is to buy it from a vendor, but these scan jammers are expensive.

Even though there are extra shielded cargo and scan jammers, sometimes the contraband might still be caught by the cops. Trying to smuggle more heavy contraband simultaneously will massively increase the ship’s weight, and cops could quickly identify that something is wrong with the ship. When you enter a planet with security, the chance of smuggling the goods will be shown in HUD by percentage. So, if you have many items to smuggle, smuggle them in multiple trips rather than taking them all at once.

How to Make Money from Contraband in Starfield
Players can make money from selling these valuable contraband items. At the start of the game, players only have one place to sell these contraband goods, The Trade Authority. As the game progresses, players can sell these valuable items at the Key, which is located in the Crimson Fleet space station.
In the Trade Authority, players must find a human representative to sell these items. In the Trade Authority found in New Atlantis, it is Zoe. Interacting with Zoe would allow you to sell these goods. Zoe is usually in the wells so that players can interact with her from there.
