Phone and tablet screen problems: test it, then fix it
You can test a phone or iPad screen right in the browser. Many phones and some iPads use OLED panels, so burn-in and retention matter more here than bleed.

Common phone & tablet problems
- A dot that's there on every app
Open the dead pixel test and step through the colors. Rotate the phone if the dot sits near an edge.
- A faint keyboard or status bar that stays on screen
Often retention that fades with normal use. The burn-in test and burn-in guide explain how to tell.
- The browser bars won't hide in full screen
Safari on iPhone can't hide them. The tests fill the visible area instead, so rotate the phone and scroll a little to check the edges.
- Cracks, lines after a drop, or a screen that won't respond to touch
That's hardware damage, and no browser tool fixes it. Contact the maker or a repair shop. Don't press on the panel.
