Final Fantasy 16: How To Get Gelatinous Mass?

by Amali Smarakoon

Do you want to know how to get Gelatinous Mass in Final Fantasy 16? The newest Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy XVI (16), came out on June 22, 2023. Square Enix is the company that made this role-playing action game. Gelatinous Mass is one of the rare crafting materials in Final Fantasy 16. You’ll need that to create Drakeslayer’s Bracelets. You can find details about how to get Gelatinous Mass, locations, and much more through this guide. So let’s get started.

What Is Gelatinous Mass?

Finishing the Blacksmith Blue’s side quest will open many more quests, and Drakeslayer’s Bracelets is one among them. You will need Dragon Talon, Briar Clam Shell, Scalettie, and Gelatinous Mass to create it.

Gelatinous Mass is a scarce material. It comes from a monster called Flan Prince. Of course, you’ll have to defeat it to get Gelatinous Mass you need. But before that, you must get the exact location of Flan Prince.

Where To Find Gelatinous Mass in Final Fantasy 16?

You can visit the Hunt Board to get the details about the location of Flan Prince. There you must check the list called ‘Muddy Murder,’ and you will find the location south of Rosaria, in Hawk’s Cry Cliff.

Travel to the location and head north. But remember to stay left and not to take the right side path through Amber.

Knowing your enemy is the best tactic in a war. Flan Prince is an A-graded Notorious Mark which makes it hard to defeat. But it is not impossible if you have the right tools and options. Taking it down will give you 5,200 EXP, 12,000 Gill, and 30 Renown.

Flan Price comes with Secial Elemental attacks such as Firaga, Stonega, Tornado, and Blizzaga. And it has a lethal Hands Down attack. So, if you fight with it, keep these tips in mind.

  • When Flan Prince finishes casting Special Elemental attacks, it will quickly move on to Fast Jump Attack. So keep tack on that and use that window to Parry it or a Precision Dodge as a counterattack.
  • Be aware of the Hands Down attack. Try to understand its attacking pattern. It will start with one hand smash, then two hand smash, followed by a Jump Smash attack and a slight rest. If you get hit by the first part, you’ll be exposed to the next barrage, which could take your HP from full to almost zero at lower levels! Before the first attack, stay far away or get ready to dodge.
  • If dodging is hard, you can use Titanic Block instead. You can use it as much as you like because it doesn’t need any cool-down time.
