Players can earn special bonuses and play new challenges by participating in this event. This event is a celebration of the release of Detective Pikachu Returns on Nintendo Switch. Detective Pikachu Returns Event Guide In Pokemon Go
This special event will begin on October 5, 2023, at 10 am and on October 9, 2023, at 8 pm local time. Trainers can currently benefit from 2× XP when spinning PokéStops. Additionally, there are certain Pokémon that will be appearing more often in the wild. These include,
- Pikachu wearing a Detective Hat
- Growlithe
- Magikarp
- Lotad
- Alolan Exeggutor
- Slowpoke with a hat
- Xatu
- Chimecho
- Bronzor
- Falinks
- Ducklett
- Bellossom
- Cutiefly
This Detective hat-wearing Pikachu is a particular Pokemon. It’s a costume Pokémon that hasn’t been seen in Pokémon Go for several years. By taking snapshots, players can encounter this special Pikachu once per day. Also, Slowpoke will appear in this event. Players can encounter costume Slowpoke; remember, these Pokemon can be shiny.
Trainers can earn encounters with Sudowoodo, Snivy, and Rowlet by completing Field Research tasks. These tasks also help complete the event-themed Collection Challenge.
Apart from this, the Timed Research story will also be part of this event. In this story, trainers assist Professor Willow in locating a “Pokémon of interest.” By finishing Field Research tasks during this time, trainers can encounter Pikachu wearing a detective hat. Also, remember you have to complete the tasks and their rewards obtained before Monday, October 9, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Which Path To Choose
This new Pokemon Go event has a task called Detective Pikachu Choose a Path in Timed Research. In this task, you must correctly guess which Pokemon Professor Willow describes. There are few choices the game will provide, and you have to choose between Snivy, Rowlet, or Sudowoodo. If you guess the correct answer, you will be rewarded with an extra Pikachu encounter. You will be rewarded with only 25 XP if you give a wrong answer. The correct answer for the puzzle is Sudowoodo.
Can You Get Shiny Rowlet In Pokemon Go Detective Pikachu Returns
Unfortunately, you cannot catch Shiny Rowlet during the Detective Pikachu Return event. This event showcases various Pokémon, such as Pikachu and Slowpoke, wearing a hat, which may have a shiny variant available. However, the Shiny version of Rowlet has not yet been released in Pokemon Go.
